Dear doctor,

I would like to share some of the complications of recent COVID-19 pandemic and its association with our dental fraternity:

Is your patient having

  • Multiple dental abscesses or sinus?
  • Severe dental pain referred to maxillary sinus and headache?
  • Sudden mobility of multiple teeth?
  • Without any carious or periodontal lesions?
  • With h/o of COVID-19 or uncontrolled diabetes?

If yes, then the patient could be having osteomyelitis of the jaw secondary to Covid-19 or hyperglycaemia induced by steroid therapy to treat Covid, uncontrolled diabetes or embolism of microthrombi causing avascular necrosis of the jaws, especially maxilla.

We can reduce patients’ morbidity by early diagnosis and surgical intervention along with antibiotic
and anti fungal therapy!

Help your patient to get the best oral and maxillo-facial care with advanced reconstruction to limit morbidities.

Many thanks and regards,
